Michael Tran and I attended the Workshop called, Choosing a Major today too, after attending the 1st workshop.
This workshop gave us advice, myths, facts, and ways of choosing a major or concentration.
During the workshop, we are told about how activities we enjoyed as a child, personality, values, skills/ abilities, and interests/ passions, can help affect our decision.
1 of the papers we received describes the 6 groups of careers(Realistic, Conventional, Investigative, Enterprising, Social, and Artistic) there are and what careers relate to each.
I always feel that whatever major i choose, I will "determine my future career path forever". My current major wasn't actually my decision, and with this workshop, it helped informed me of ways to help myself decide, and stating that about "80% of workers in the US are in a field not related to their college major and switched their major at least once.
