12/7 -Monday's Blog

On Saturday, i felt the remedial English final went a bit bad, since after finished writing the 1st body paragraph i quickly glanced it over and it didn't seem like a strong argument, and so i tried to make it up in the 2nd paragraph but probably still wasn't strong. the pressure of the time pressed down on me.

while on Monday, 2 days after the final there was an optional in class essay that i went to, and the essay i did during then felt like the best essay i wrote all semester, also better than the final.

Each year the Macy's Thanksgiving parade starts at 9am and ends at 12pm.

During Thanksgiving....

On Thursday woke up before 9am to watch the Macy's thanksgiving parade, while at the same time made mash potatoes with my brother. By around 12 relatives had started coming over. then later around 1pm went to pick up some cousins and grandparents to take over my house. the rest of the day played around with cousins, eat, made a short up a short video, and it about ended at 2am. overall it wasn't like a thanksgiving dinner, but a party since we already started eating in early afternoon.

Today we went to the Conversation with University Leadership from about 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Important people such as the Dean and the provost of the college were there to talk about what they do everyday in their position. Also, they answer some questions written by other students, like remediation, budget cuts, etc. The only one that interest me was when they talked about remediation because I'm in Academic English class and I need to know the outcome of it, since I'm worried if I may not pass my finals for the class and would have to go to community college to make up the class for next semester.

Workshop2: Choosing a Major

Michael Tran and I attended the Workshop called, Choosing a Major today too, after attending the 1st workshop.

This workshop gave us advice, myths, facts, and ways of choosing a major or concentration.

During the workshop, we are told about how activities we enjoyed as a child, personality, values, skills/ abilities, and interests/ passions, can help affect our decision.

1 of the papers we received describes the 6 groups of careers(Realistic, Conventional, Investigative, Enterprising, Social, and Artistic) there are and what careers relate to each.

I always feel that whatever major i choose, I will "determine my future career path forever". My current major wasn't actually my decision, and with this workshop, it helped informed me of ways to help myself decide, and stating that about "80% of workers in the US are in a field not related to their college major and switched their major at least once.

Workshop1: Stressin' Out

Michael Tran and I attended the Workshop called, Stressin' Out today (10/27).

The workshop was from 12:00pm-1:00pm, it talked about the different kid of stresses there are, how to relax, and places on campus that can help you with your stress.

They identified the different causes of stress, like eating more/less, less sleep, or chest pain.

Places we can go on campus to get help deal with stress are like the health office and the guidance counselor office.

Also, some techniques they mention that can help relieve stress are aromatherapy, meditation, and breathing.

What i gained was the knowledge of the affects of stress on myself, where i can go for help, and some techniques to reduces it because I've been stressing on my academic English since if i don't pass the finals with 8 or higher than I'll be kick out of SJSU and have to start over at a community college

I still haven't made up a title for it yet, but it should be completed around this weekend.

Also got a new vid idea, which is a live action parody sort of thing on the board game CLUE, after thinking back on last weekend how my cousins, bro, & I played CLUE.

LeWorksStudios: Gots New New Idea for Halloween Themed Video

Today when going to the bathroom during MUSE class i got a Halloween themed video idea, and when i came back to class I wrote out a rough summary of how the whole video would play out, while either the dialogue will be improvised or I'll write it out before the weekend.

Since it seems that its gonna be interesting making this new video, I'll actually try start to start it as soon as possible, like this Friday or Saturday. Instead off putting it off like, the Death Note parody i was gonna do, or the Lethal Agent sequel (Lethal Agents 2) script I almost finished but stopped working on it for months now.

the class i stay in tuned the most is finite math & 2nd would be academic English. Since in finite math we take notes everyday, this makes it easier to stay focus in class. While in Academic English, there's always lectures and often I would get sleepy if it gets long and boring, except when there's in-class exercises to be done.

It's noticeable when a teacher stress on important concepts because he/she would either say so or use a different tone in his/her voice.

My youtube channel / account is LeWorksStudios and it's shared with my brother and cousins, whom you may have seen in most of our videos. About all the videos are comedic sketches and parodies, like Smosh and nigahiga. All video are edited by me, on either Sony Vegas Pro or Corel Video Studio Pro, I used to use Windows Movie Maker but when editing it kept on freezing and lagging, when editing I would do a bit everyday and usually it takes about a week or so if the video is short and don't have many shots. The camcorder used is a Panasonic HDD camcorder w/ 42x optic zooms. I usually get my ideas for a video and or script when in the shower, which may seem odd, but that's when I can easily think.

So far, this our most viewed video:

When making a video, each scenes should be shot more than once, in case during editing you found out the scene was badly done

Basic steps to make a short film type youtube video

1. 1st gather ideas for what kind of short-film you want to make: comedy, action, drama, etc
2. Finalize your choice
3. Write a script so that your characters would have dialogue and so that you know how your video would be like.
4. Find locations for filming
5. With just yourself, or as many of actors you need, perform and film your video
-when filming, you don't have to film in order from beginning to end
-each scenes should be shot more than once, in case during editing the scene
turns out bad.
6. Review all your shots
7.Use a video editor (windows movie maker, Sony Vegas, Corel, etc)to put your shots
together and name your video.

3 general critical thinking styles:
-info avoiders
-consumers
-strategists

To construct a good argument one must 1st have an accurate hypothesis with points to a reasonable ending.

Facts are less important than thinking skills to an employer because without thinking skills facts are not really useful, and thinking skills are used to solve problems during a job.

Steps to find an ideal solution
1.identify the answer
2.define the answer
3.explore other approaches
4.act on the best strategy
5.look back to evaluate the effects

When bidding for an item on ebay, bid within the last 10 seconds before the bid ends, with a good max bid, so that you can win the bid better, since it would make it harder for other bidders to react to your bid and they won't have time to figure out your max bid.

Away that most of the time helps me stay focus is to take notes while the instructor is lecturing. Another way that can help me stay focus is learning something that interest me, but that doesn't happen all the time.

-Aside from my current major in business, I would like to either minor or take a second major in film.

Tips & Tricks #4

Finish HW earlier in the week, so that you can have fun or relax more during the weekend.

9/16 -Wednesday's Blog

-My strength at managing time is being able to put together a schedule, but my weakness is maintaining that schedule.
-A bad habit i have is taking my time to do something, which waste too much time, while a good habit is eventually completing the task.
-With the Swiss-cheese approach, I plan on "poking holes in bigger tasks by working on them in small bursts", and by doing so I would be more focus and procrastinate on the tasks less. Those tasks are my group project for business class, my pairs article presentation for English class, and the outline of scholarly paper for MUSE class.
-Activities done more than 3hrs a week: watching TV, playing games, doing HW, & going on the internet.
About all my activities relate to my goal of having fun, instead of learning.

9/14 -Monday's Blog

By managing time correctly a person can become less stress. Having an electronic or written planner, spreading out big task into smaller parts, etc can help you manage your time to complete or do many things within a time set. When creating such a planner a help thing to do is prioritizing each activity to know which is more important than the other. Ways to stop procrastinating are organizing a planner, putting deadlines for important activities, breaking up a big activity into smaller ones pushing yourself, and encourage yourself.

For me, I spend too much time playing games, going on the internet, editing videos, and watching TV. I spend too little time studying for certain classes, so I'll to start studying soon or I might forget or fall behind in what is happening in class. I need to spend less time on the internet doing nothing important because that's my most time waster.

The SJSU Articles & Databases for online scholarly research, while the SJPL Articles & Databases for articles on general subjects. RefWork can help create a bibliography, etc for scholarly paper. Some services available for SJSU students are borrowing a laptop is needed, staying a few hours past closing time to continue there studies, and borrowing course material. Also, an interesting way to get help is by texting a librarian. Just before leaving I stopped by the front desk to sign up for a library card there.

Current Status on videos

Thanks to the family gathering, math HW, etc; the new videos I was hoping to do and finished before the end of the weekend, will be uploaded around this coming weekend.
The 1st video called Asian Forest Drama, I have started editing and it is will probably turn out okay or crap because of some of the in-experience blue screen and lack of music. While the 2nd untitled video will be started tomorrow after my last class of the day; it will be loosely based on a parody of the movie Saw, since Nigahiga & ShaneDawsonTV each did a parody of sorts based on the movie also.

Tips & Tricks #1

Have your 1st class at around 10:30am for less traffic, and it maybe easier to find parking around that time too.

1st Week of College

The first day of class was somewhat dull because of the course introductions, green sheet info, etc. Academic English class got me already worried of the final exam of which i need to pass if i want to stay in SJSU. MUSE class has a lot of work spread out across the semester. Also, i already hate Bus10 class because of all the long work we have to do, especially the 6 page paper due 9/9 about our 10 year career plan. The second day of class was a bit better since i have only 2 classes. Even though, the table tennis instructor talked the whole time, we got to leave class 20 minutes early, and the finite math class seemed different from what i expected to be.
